Highlights from the ACCU Market Monthly Update for June 2026
The ACCU market firmed modestly through June, with Generic spot prices briefly reaching their highest levels since late 2025 before easing into month-end.
Despite the mid-month lift, the market remained range-bound, with repeated selling interest around $38.00 limiting further upside while underlying compliance demand continued to provide support.
June traded volume totalled 2.05 million ACCUs, down slightly from May and below June 2025, marking the third consecutive month of lower year-on-year activity.
Policy attention continued to centre on ACCU Scheme reforms and the forthcoming Safeguard Mechanism review, with market participants focused on what future baseline settings and ACCU use in compliance may mean for longer-term supply-demand dynamics.
Approximately 1.74 million ACCUs were issued during June, led by HIR methodologies, while development of future methods remains an important focus for longer-term supply.
